For sales teams, recruiters, investors and AI agents. 20 free companies a day, no key; plans from $5 (one-time pack) or $19/month.

Limits, plainly

Free and rate limited so it stays fast for everyone. One company per call; loop over longer lists. For 1,000-company watchlists on a schedule, Workable boards and a monitor mode that returns only companies whose hiring changed, the HireHeat tool on the Apify Store does the same checks in bulk.

  • One company per call; 10 calls a minute per IP on the free tier. /api/jobs returns up to 500 jobs per call.
  • Free tier: 20 companies a day per IP, no key. Paid keys from $5 (one-time pack) or $19/month (see Get an API key).
  • Each call counts as one company check, found or not. Failed calls are not counted. Answers are cached for 1 hour per company (cached: true).
  • Boards: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Recruitee (their public career-page APIs). Workable boards are not readable from this API. Companies that post only on LinkedIn, Indeed or their own HR system come back with found: false.
  • Boards are found from links on the company's own website (high confidence) or by matching the board name to the domain (medium/low, labelled in matchMethod).

How the price compares

Per company checked. Rival list prices were read from their public pricing pages on 1 Oct 2026.

WhoPlanWhat you getPer 1,000 companies
TheirStack API$49/month1,500 API credits (about 500 companies, or 1,500 jobs)about $98
PredictLeads$40/month minimum$0.04 per API credit (1 credit per result)from $40 (1 result each)
Coresignal Mini$49/month2,500 credits/monthn/a (credits per record)
HireHeat API Scout$19/month2,500 companies/month, all their open jobs$7.60
HireHeat API pay as you go$5 once, never expires500 companies$10.00

TheirStack, PredictLeads and Coresignal sell crawled databases with history and many more sources (LinkedIn, Indeed). HireHeat reads each company's own job board live at the time of the call, so the counts are today's, and one company check includes every open job on its boards.

Watching 1,000 companies on a schedule?

HireHeat on the Apify Store checks lists of any size, also reads Workable boards, exports CSV/Excel, and has a monitor mode that returns only the companies whose hiring changed (and only the new jobs) since the last run.

Get an API key

TheirStack and PredictLeads alternative for your own company lists. Keys work on the REST API and the MCP server; no Apify account needed.

FAQ

Why not TheirStack or PredictLeads?

They are large job-data platforms with history and many sources, priced for that: TheirStack $49/month for 1,500 API credits (about 500 companies), PredictLeads from $40/month at $0.04 per credit (their pricing pages, 1 Oct 2026). If you want today's hiring at the companies you name, read from their own boards, a Scout key ($5 (one-time pack) or $19/month) covers 2,500 companies a month.

Why not read the career pages myself?

You can, one at a time. HireHeat finds which board a company uses (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Recruitee), reads every open job through the board's public API, and turns it into one comparable signal: open roles, new roles in 7 and 30 days, functions, seniority and locations.

How fresh is it?

Live: each answer is read from the boards at the time of the call, then cached for 1 hour per company (cached: true in the result).

What if a company is not found?

It comes back with found: false and the boards checked. The company may post only on LinkedIn or Indeed, use an HR system without a public board, or use Workable (read by the Apify tool, not this API). Try its board URL directly if you know it.

Is there a key or a cost?

The free tier needs no key: 20 company checks a day per IP. Paid keys: pay as you go: $5 for 500 company checks that never expire (no subscription); or monthly: Scout $19/month for 2,500 company checks, Team $49/month for 8,000 company checks, Scale $99/month for 20,000 company checks. Yearly billing gives 2 months free. Every call checks one company and counts once, whatever the number of jobs. Send the key as the x-api-key header. No surprise overage charges; cancel any time.

Can I use it from Claude, Cursor or another AI agent?

Yes. Add the MCP server URL below (with your key as a Bearer token for paid limits). Tools: hiring_signals and company_jobs.

Where does the data come from, and is it legal to use?

From the public job-board APIs that Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Recruitee publish so companies can show their openings on their career pages, plus the company's own public website to find the board. No login, no personal data about candidates, nothing stored except a 1-hour cache. Not affiliated with any of these vendors.
